These are the first level of proper hobby grade electric helicopters. These are for people who want to get into the hobby with real models and have the patience to learn slowly and not just rip it out of the box and be flying on the first day. What makes them different to the toy grade is that they are more technologically advanced with features such as advanced longer range radio equipment, more powerful motors and li-po batteries, 4ch controls rather than 3ch, real servos, gyros, receivers etc and more precise electronics. They also have more detailed construction and finish. These things makes flying them more realistic and precise. Hit forward on a toy rc helicopter and it will slowly hover forward but hit forward on a hobby grade helicopter and they will zoom forward quite quickly. The 4th channel also allows then to bank left and right which is something that the toy ones can not do.
